Imperial Film Company's 1932 costume romance Dagabaz Ashiq featured a score by Firozshah Mistry, one of Imperial's house composers, arranged to underscore the period drama's emotional peaks. The film gave a young Prithviraj Kapoor one of his early screen opportunities alongside Mushtari. Individual song titles have not survived in available catalogues, but the music would have been in the live-recorded early-talkie house style — voice-forward, emotionally direct, with Urdu romantic verse suited to the betrayal narrative.
