'Bharat Desh Hamara Pyara' stands second in the record listing for Parinde (1945), written like all eight of the film's songs by Rammurti Chaturvedi and composed by Pandit Gobind Ram. The catalogues that carry it — HindiGeetMala, which files it under its patriotic-songs category, and MySwar — give lyricist and composer but no singer, and no writer consulted has identified the voice. The audio itself survives in a collectors' archive of the film's records; the credit does not. The singer field is therefore left empty here rather than filled with a plausible name.

Nothing about this particular recording is documented in the sources consulted — no raag, no taal, no instrumentation, no duration, and no singer — so no description of the performance is offered here. What can be said is contextual. 1945 was Gobind Ram's strongest year, with Parinde, Laila Majnu and Hamara Sansar all carrying his name, and writers on him consistently praise his command of rhythm and orchestration and his range across folk, ghazal and mainstream 1940s idioms. Within Parinde he keeps the patriotic songs and the romantic songs in visibly different registers, and this title belongs to the first group.

The title is a flat declaration — India, our beloved country — and it belongs to the largest and least ornamented family of Indian film lyric: the song that simply names the land and calls it dear. In 1945 that plainness was itself useful. A lyric that praises the country without naming a ruler, a party or a grievance cleared a censor who would have stopped anything sharper, and it left the audience free to supply the politics the words withheld. Rammurti Chaturvedi gave Parinde four songs outside the romance — this one, the prayer 'Doobte Bharat Ko Bachao', the send-off 'Jaao Veer Rann Mein' and the awakening song 'Kabhi To Jago Ae Sone Walo' — which in a film about a serving airman functions less as decoration than as a second plot line.

Parinde (1945) was written, produced and directed by Acharya P. K. Atre for Atre Pictures, one of only two Hindi films he directed himself. Surendra plays a schoolteacher who enlists during the Burma campaign and trains as a pilot; Vanmala is the fellow teacher he leaves behind and who later joins the forces as a nurse; and a doctor played by Baburao Pendharkar, partner in her father's black-market trade, engineers the misunderstanding that separates them. Songs like this one carry the film's public argument while the duets carry its private one. The surviving print is short by roughly forty-five minutes and its continuity jumps, so the placement of this number in the finished film is not recoverable from any account consulted.

This song has no separate afterlife. It survives as an audio file in a private collectors' archive of the Parinde records and as an uncredited line in two song catalogues, and it is not quoted, anthologised or discussed anywhere consulted. That is worth recording rather than dressing up: the great majority of the roughly 250 Hindi films released in 1945 left songs in exactly this condition — the title and the composer preserved, the voice lost — and an encyclopaedia entry that says so is more useful than one that invents a singer.
