S. N. Tripathi came from a family of Varanasi priests and Sanskrit scholars and trained at the Morris College of Music in Lucknow; devotional material was native ground for him, and he would spend much of his later career on mythologicals and bhajan-heavy scores. Beyond that background nothing about this particular setting can be described, because no audio survives.

The title is a standard bhajan formula. Manwa — the mind, addressed affectionately in the Braj-inflected Hindi that north Indian devotional song has used for centuries — is told to chant Radheshyam, the compound name that binds Radha to Krishna and functions as a single invocation across the Vaishnava repertoire. Placing such a number in a contemporary 'social' was routine in the 1940s: it gave the film a moment of moral centring, and it gave the record shop a song that would sell to households that bought devotional discs.

Adhar (1945), also catalogued as Aadhaar, was a 'social' produced by Geeta Pictures, Bombay, and directed by Ramanlal Lalbhai Desai, with S. N. Tripathi composing to lyrics by M. A. Razi. Umakant Desai played the hero opposite an actress billed only as Kokila, with Yakub, Shahzadi, Firoza, Usha and others in support. No print circulates and no plot summary survives, so the placement of any individual song within the narrative is unrecoverable; the Hindi Film Geet Kosh listing and the Columbia record labels are effectively the whole surviving record of the film.
