Synopsis'सती अनसूया' पुराणों की प्रसिद्ध पतिव्रता अनसूया के जीवन का चित्रण है — जो महर्षि अत्रि की पत्नी थीं और जिनकी असाधारण भक्ति शक्ति से त्रिमूर्ति (ब्रह्मा, विष्णु, शिव) भी उनकी परीक्षा नहीं ले सके। 1 जनवरी 1933 को रिलीज़ इम्पीरियल फ़िल्म कंपनी की यह मदनराई वकील निर्देशित फ़िल्म आरंभिक टॉकी दर्शकों के लिए लोकप्रिय 'सती-नारी' विधा में थी।

Sati Anusuya depicts the life of Anusuya, the celebrated pativrata (faithful wife) of the Puranas, known for her unshakeable devotion to her husband Atri and her power to confound even the Trimurti (Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva) who came to test her. Released on 1 January 1933 from Imperial Film Company and directed by Madanrai Vakil, the film belongs to the sati-naari (virtuous woman) genre that was enormously popular with early talkie audiences seeking both entertainment and moral instruction. The devotional subject would have generated a score rich in prayer-songs and devotional bhajans.
