नल दमयंती

The Mahabharata episode of King Nal and his wife Damyanti — one of the greatest love stories in Sanskrit literature. Nal loses his kingdom in a dice game and abandons Damyanti in the forest; their eventual reunion is the emotional climax. Akhtari Bai's presence as Damyanti gave the production exceptional musical credibility — her classical thumri voice matched the emotional range the tragic separation demands.

Music director not documented. The Nal-Damyanti story demands both royal celebration songs and the virah-bhajan of separation — the full emotional range of classical Hindustani devotional and romantic forms.
