Do or Die is a 1944 Hindi feature directed by Harbans, a wartime-era stunt-and-action production whose principal draw was the physical-culture star Baburao 'Pahelwan' (the wrestler), alongside supporting players including Mirajkar, the strongman Afghan Sandow and Pandit Kaul. Like most action films of the period, its commercial appeal rested on athletic set-pieces and its songs rather than on literary or dramatic ambition.

The film carried seven songs, all penned by Ehsan Rizvi and composed jointly by Mushtaq Hussain and Kelkar. The programme spans a marching, exhortatory number ('Aage Badhe Chalo'), a working-class anthem ('Kaun Hai Hum Mazdoor'), and romantic pieces ('Mai Tum Pe Fida Hu', 'Sajan Aao'), reflecting the mixed musical menu typical of a 1940s action film. Per-song singer attributions are not documented in available sources.
Aage Badhe Chalo
Dil Aaj Masarat Ka Paigham Sunata Hai
Gori Suratiya Tori
Jivan Ka Sukh Paye Sajan
Kaun Hai Hum Mazdoor

The Monographमहत्व Significance

Do or Die is a representative title of the modest 'stunt film' tradition that flourished in 1940s Hindi cinema, built around physical-culture and wrestling stars rather than singing romantic leads. Its musical interest lies in the early work of composer Mushtaq Hussain, who shared the score with the lesser-documented Kelkar, set to the lyrics of the prolific 1940s songwriter Ehsan Rizvi.
