Kanishk Seth is a Mumbai-based composer, producer and singer who works at the meeting point of Sufi poetry and electronic music. Born in 1995 in New Delhi, he grew up inside a musical household as the son of ghazal and Sufi singer Kavita Seth, and made his mark in 2015 with the debut album Trance with Khusrow, which set the verses of Amir Khusrow to trance and lounge production. The album earned him nominations at the Global Indian Music Academy Awards, including Best Music Debut (Non-Film) and Best Fusion Album. His signature achievement is "Rangi Saari", the mother-son duet that began as an independent release and was recreated as "Rangisari" for the film Jugjugg Jeeyo (2022), becoming one of the year's defining Hindi film songs and winning Kavita Seth a Filmfare Award. He followed it with "Ki Jaana" for Double XL (2022) and the widely trending "Khumaari" for Kesari Chapter 2 (2025), again pairing his production with his mother's voice. As both composer and vocalist, Seth represents a generation of Indian musicians carrying classical and Sufi inheritance into contemporary electronic soundscapes.
