A hijr (separation) ghazal from the 1942 social drama Parda Nasheen, written by A. W. Razi and composed by R. A. Atra. The classical Urdu conceit of the title — gazing at the walls and door of the beloved's house in her absence — places the number squarely in the literary-ghazal tradition. Note: hindigeetmala lists 'Lata Mangeshkar' as the singer, but this is implausible for 1942 (her first Hindi playback came years later), so no singer credit is recorded here pending verification.

R. A. Atra frames Razi's couplet in the slow, melisma-friendly ghazal manner — harmonium and tabla supporting a vocal line that lingers on the Urdu radif — the introspective, chamber-scale sound typical of the early-1940s social rather than a big production number.
