संचित बलहारा

Sanchit Balhara is a film composer from Sonipat, Haryana, best known for the sweeping orchestral background scores of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's epics. Music runs in the family — his father Bhal Singh Balhara was a singer, actor and filmmaker in Haryanvi cinema — and Sanchit trained in music production and sound engineering at Point Blank Music School in London, completing his diploma in 2011. After debuting with the Haryanvi film Tera Mera Vaada (2012), he broke through with the score of Bajirao Mastani (2015), which swept the year's background-score honours including IIFA, Mirchi Music and Zee Cine awards, and followed it with Padmaavat (2018). His brother Ankit Balhara then joined him, and as a duo the Balhara brothers have become Bollywood's go-to team for large-canvas scores: Manikarnika, Kalank and War (2019), Gangubai Kathiawadi and Samrat Prithviraj (2022), Pathaan and Adipurush (2023), Fighter and Maharaj (2024), and War 2 (2025). Alongside their score work, the brothers have increasingly composed songs, with a run of soundtrack credits in 2025 including 'Shaitan', 'Sapno Ka Signature', 'Tripping High' and 'Gurubrahma'.
