Raanjhan (रांझन) is the defining Hindi song of 2025's streaming era — despite its October 2024 release with the Netflix film Do Patti, it reached #1 on Spotify India Songs for five consecutive weeks, accumulated 246 million streams, peaked at #3 on the Official Asian Music Chart, reached #194 on the Billboard Global 200 and #86 on Billboard Global Excl. US, and became the most-streamed Hindi song in Spotify India Wrapped 2025. Sung by Parampara Tandon — one half of the composer duo Sachet-Parampara — with composition by the duo and lyrics by poet-lyricist Kausar Munir, the four-minute track from director Shashanka Chaturvedi's thriller transforms the Punjabi-rooted word 'raanjhan' into a universally understood vocabulary for romantic grief.

Sachet-Parampara's compositional choice for Raanjhan is deceptive in its simplicity: a piano motif that enters alone in the first bar, builds with strings over the first verse, and arrives at the chorus with the cello providing the gut-punch of grief. Parampara Tandon's voice — warm, clear, carrying a slight Rajasthani folk quality from her training — is deployed here with unusual restraint. She does not belt the chorus; she leans into it. The arrangement breathes around her, never covering, always supporting. Do Patti was written and produced by Kanika Dhillon (Shahid, Haseen Dillruba) and co-produced by actress Kriti Sanon's Blue Butterfly Films, directed by Shashanka Chaturvedi. Kajol and Kriti Sanon (in a dual role) headline the film. Sachet-Parampara were brought in for the soundtrack and Kausar Munir for lyrics; the collaboration had produced hits before (Teri Mitti for Kesari, 2019). The music video for Raanjhan features Kriti Sanon and Shaheer Sheikh. After its 4 October 2024 audio release, the song began accumulating streams quietly; when the film released on Netflix on 25 October 2024, Raanjhan's reach exploded — becoming the most-watched Netflix India Original of the year helped propel the song to #1 on Spotify India for five weeks straight. In August 2025, music producer KMKZ alleged plagiarism; Sachet-Parampara denied the claims and announced plans for legal action.
