Yeh Raat (ये रात) is the sole vocal song from Zwigato (2023), Nandita Das's drama about a laid-off factory manager, played by Kapil Sharma, who turns to food-delivery gig work while his wife Pratima (Shahana Goswami) takes up jobs of her own to keep the family afloat. Composed by Hitesh Sonik with lyrics by Devanshu and Geet, and sung by Sunidhi Chauhan, the track was released on 13 March 2023 by Sony Music Entertainment India, days ahead of the film's theatrical release. Devanshu and Geet's lyrics open with the promise that 'this night will itself call forth the morning' and 'won't pass in vain' — using the imagery of dense clouds and a firefly's small glow to speak of hope surviving even in the darkest stretches. The metaphor of the jugnu (firefly) lighting a path through the night captures the film's central idea: that small, persistent effort — like a delivery rider's nightly rounds — eventually leads somewhere better.

Zwigato itself earned three nominations at the 69th Filmfare Awards, and the film's critical acclaim for its unflinching portrait of gig-economy life lent Yeh Raat's message of quiet perseverance added resonance in Hindi entertainment coverage.
