Yeh Ek Zindagi (ये एक ज़िंदगी) is the moody opening single from Vasan Bala's neo-noir dark-comedy thriller Monica, O My Darling (2022), composed and produced by Achint Thakkar together with Mikey McCleary, written by Varun Grover, and sung by Anupama Chakraborty Shrivastava. Released on 31 October–1 November 2022 by Sony Music India ahead of the film's 11 November Netflix premiere, the song was designed as a hypnotic, retro-flavoured introduction to the film's femme-fatale figure, Monica Machado (Huma Qureshi) — its official video interweaves her image with Rajkummar Rao's Jayant Arkhedkar as the lyrics ask, unresolved, where this woman came from and where she is going. Part of a six-track soundtrack in which Thakkar composed all songs and split lyric-writing duties with Grover, the track set the film's atmospheric tone before its Filmfare OTT Award-winning theatrical and streaming run.

Achint Thakkar and Mikey McCleary — the composer duo behind the film's entire six-track soundtrack — built Yeh Ek Zindagi around a slow-burning, retro-inflected arrangement that leans into a vintage, almost lounge-noir texture, evoking the atmosphere of old detective films rather than a conventional contemporary Bollywood ballad.
