Released as a promotional single for Nishaanchi (2025), 'Jhule Jhule Paalna' is composer Manan Bhardwaj's reimagining of a timeless traditional lullaby, sung with Prajakta Shukre and Himani Kapoor. Amazon MGM Studios India and Zee Music Company released the track highlighting how Bhardwaj blended folk roots with electronic-laced contemporary sound, transforming the soft rhythm of a cradle song into a high-energy, instantly catchy anthem. The juxtaposition of a lullaby's tenderness with the film's crime-world urgency makes this one of the more conceptually daring tracks in the Nishaanchi album.

Manan Bhardwaj's arrangement begins in familiar folk territory — the rocking rhythm of a paalna, women's voices in close harmony — before introducing electronic percussion that incrementally raises the energy. The folk string texture (likely sarangi or esraj) remains throughout, providing a thread connecting the traditional source material to the contemporary production. The three-voice interplay between Bhardwaj, Shukre, and Kapoor creates a sense of communal singing — not one woman comforting a child, but a whole village of women, urgent and alive.

The traditional lullaby lyric is built on the simplest and most durable of folk images: the moon coming, stars arriving, time passing in the safety of sleep. What Manan Bhardwaj's arrangement does is inject these images with a contemporary urgency — as if the mother singing knows the world outside the cradle is not safe, and her song is both a comfort and a prayer.

The song was released in partnership between Amazon MGM Studios India and Zee Music Company, with media coverage in Mediabrief and LatestLY highlighting how Kashyap's film embraces the lullaby tradition of Lucknow-Kanpur households. Manan Bhardwaj, who composed multiple songs for the album (tracks 2, 3, 6, 9, 10, 14), was the most prolific composer on the Nishaanchi soundtrack.

In the tradition of Bollywood's reimagined folk lullabies — from 'Lori' in Khandaan (1942) to AR Rahman's reinterpretations — 'Jhule Jhule Paalna' joins a long line of films that use the intimate space of a cradle song to comment on the anxieties of the world outside. Manan Bhardwaj's version stands out for its refusal to sentimentalise: the folk roots are there, but the urgency is entirely contemporary.
