बेईमान सी लगे

Beiman Si Lage (बेईमान सी लगे) is the emotional centerpiece 'sad song' of Saroj Ka Rishta (2022), Abhishek Saxena's Hindi romantic comedy-drama starring Sanah Kapur, Randeep Rai, Kumud Mishra and Gaurav Pandey. Composed by Rahul Jain with lyrics by Sanjeev Chaturvedi, the track is sung by Jay Mishra, with music production, mixing and mastering handled by Soham Naik. Released on 24 August 2022 by Zee Music Company — ahead of the rest of the album and the film's 16 September 2022 theatrical release — the official music video accompanies a heart-wrenching moment for the film's leads, and Hindi entertainment press reported the cast becoming visibly emotional at the song's unveiling. As with much of the Saroj Ka Rishta soundtrack, the song leans into the film's core theme of love, self-image and heartbreak, giving the story's darker turn a dedicated musical moment distinct from its lighter, more comedic tracks.

Rahul Jain's composition sets a slow, minor-key melody carrying Jay Mishra's vocal through the song's central refrain, with the arrangement staying restrained to keep the focus on the vocal performance and the lyric's ache. Soham Naik's production keeps the mix uncluttered, typical of the kind of understated 'sad song' Bollywood soundtracks reserve for a film's most vulnerable emotional beat.

Sanjeev Chaturvedi's lyric turns the word 'beiman' (dishonest, unfaithful) away from its usual target — a person who has betrayed the singer — and points it instead at life itself: 'mujhe to tere bin ye zindagi, beiman si lage' (without you, this life feels like a betrayal to me). It's a familiar Bollywood sad-song move — displacing blame from the departed beloved onto existence itself — that lets the song mourn a loss without casting the absent lover as a villain.

Saroj Ka Rishta centers on a confident young woman (Sanah Kapur) navigating love and body image in her neighbourhood opposite Randeep Rai's Vikram, with Kumud Mishra grounding the film's father-daughter relationship; directed by Abhishek Saxena, it released theatrically on 16 September 2022. Beiman Si Lage was released as a standalone promotional single on 24 August 2022, ahead of the rest of the soundtrack, with Hindi entertainment outlets (Navabharat, Navarashtra) reporting that cast members Gaurav Pandey and Sanah Kapur grew visibly emotional around the song's unveiling — signalling its role as the film's dedicated heartbreak moment.

As one of the earliest singles released from the Saroj Ka Rishta soundtrack, Beiman Si Lage established the film's emotional register ahead of its theatrical run, and its official Zee Music Company video has drawn a solid viewership among the film's song catalogue. A separate rendition of the same composition, sung by composer Rahul Jain himself, was also released the same day the full album dropped — an unusual step that underscores how central this melody was considered to the film's soundtrack.
