Documented in Hindi Film Geet Kosh and listed by hindigeetmala as a solo by Paresh Bannerjee, this is the single male solo in Din Raat (1945). Its audio has not resurfaced — it is one of the four songs from the film still unheard — so nothing survives of it beyond the title and the credits. The title places it in the same nain-milana idiom as the film's central duet, seen this time from the man's side.

No recording of this song is known to circulate, so its melody, tempo and instrumentation cannot be described from the music itself. What can be said is that it was composed by Dada Chandekar within the same session and the same idiom as the film's four surviving tracks — harmonium-and-tabla-led light-classical writing in a comfortable middle register — and that as the film's only male solo it would have been built for Paresh Bannerjee's own voice rather than for a trained playback singer.

The lyric text has not survived in any accessible source, so its content cannot be reported. The title alone locates it: aankhein mila gaye ho — 'you have met my eyes and gone' — is the exact inversion of the film's duet, in which the exchanged glance is a live negotiation between two present people. Here the glance is already in the past and the other person has left, which in the grammar of Hindustani film lyric marks the song as an after-the-fact address rather than a courtship. Beyond that structural reading, nothing about Santokh Nadim's actual verses can be stated.

Din Raat was produced by Navyug Chitrapat Ltd. and directed by Shori Daulatavi, with Paresh Bannerjee opposite Snehprabha Pradhan. Hindi Film Geet Kosh records singer details and record numbers for seven of the film's eight songs, and this is one of the seven — which means a 78-rpm disc of it was pressed and catalogued, even though no copy has been reported in a collection or an online archive. Nothing is known about where the song fell in the story or how it was staged.

Four of Din Raat's eight songs have returned to circulation since 2013; this is not one of them. Its status is therefore that of most 1940s Hindi film music: a title and a credit line in a printed catalogue, with the sound itself gone. Listing it is the only way the record stays complete, and the only way it remains findable if a disc ever turns up in a private collection.
