Mrs. is a Hindi remake of the 2017 Malayalam film The Great Indian Kitchen, directed by Arati Kadav. The film stars Sanya Malhotra as Richa Sharma, an educated dancer who marries Diwakar Kumar (Nishant Dahiya) and finds herself absorbed into the rituals and expectations of a traditional joint family. Through the accumulation of domestic detail — the repetitive preparation of food, the subordination of her wants to others' needs, the gradual erasure of her identity — the film builds a devastating portrait of the invisible labour and constrained selfhood of a married woman in a patriarchal household. Released on ZEE5 on February 7, 2025, it received strong critical praise and earned Sanya Malhotra the Best Actress award at the New York Indian Film Festival 2024.
