Synopsisद्वितीय लेफ्ट��नेंट अरुण खेतरपाल (1950–1971) की जीवनगाथा पर आधारित एक युद्ध-नाटक — भारत के सबसे युवा परमवीर चक्र वि���ेता। फ़िल्म 1971 के बासंतर के युद्ध में उन���ी शहादत के साथ-स��थ 2001 में उनके पिता की सरगोधा (अब पाकिस्तान) यात्रा को भी दर्शाती है। धर्मेन्द्र का पिता के रूप में यह अंतिम फ़िल्मी भूमिका है। शीर्षक 'इक्कीस' खेतरपाल की शहादत की उम्र और हिंदी मुहावरे 'इक्कीस पड़ना' दोनों का संकेत है।

A biographical war drama based on the life of 2nd Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal (1950–1971), the youngest recipient of India's Param Vir Chakra. The film chronicles his military service and martyrdom during the Battle of Basantar in the 1971 India-Pakistan War, alternating between 1971 and 2001 when his father visits their ancestral home in Sargodha (now Pakistan). Dharmendra's appearance as the father marks his final film role. The title refers both to Khetarpal's age at death (21) and the Hindi idiom 'ikkis padna' (to prove superior).

The five-track album by White Noise Collectives (Sachin–Jigar) was released on 1 January 2026, the same day as the film — with individual singles having been released in December 2025. The album spans patriotic anthems (Sitaare, Ban Ke Dikha Ikkis), Sufi-folk (Tera Aashiq), devotional duet (Sajda) and folk military (Biraadar Yamma Yamma). Both Amitabh Bhattacharya and Irshad Kamil contributed lyrics.
