हाउसफुल 5

Housefull 5 (2025) is the fifth instalment of Sajid Nadiadwala's long-running comedy franchise, directed by Tarun Mansukhani. Set aboard a luxury cruise ship, the film is a murder mystery comedy in which multiple characters claim to be the sole heir to a billionaire — and the true heir must be found before more deaths occur. The film was released in two alternate versions (Housefull 5A and Housefull 5B) with different endings, allowing audiences to choose their preferred conclusion. The ensemble cast includes Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff and Nana Patekar. Released on 6 June 2025, the film earned ₹242.80 crore worldwide, making it one of 2025's biggest Bollywood commercial successes and the franchise's strongest-performing entry in years.

Housefull 5 features one of the most eclectic soundtracks in the franchise's history, with seven different composers or compositional teams contributing: Yo Yo Honey Singh provides the flagship party track Laal Pari (with Simar Kaur and Alfaaz); White Noise Collectives deliver both the romantic Dil-E-Nadaan (Madhubanti Bagchi and Sumonto Mukherjee) and the party number Qayamat (Neeraj Shridhar and Shruti Dhasmana); Kratex and Tanishk Bagchi create the folk-electronic The Phoogdi Dance; and the nostalgic Housefull 5 Mixtape brings Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and Sajid-Wajid together with Sameer Anjaan's lyrics for a franchise greatest-hits medley. The multi-composer approach reflects the franchise's kitchen-sink approach to entertainment.

Housefull 5 is commercially the most significant Bollywood comedy of 2025 (₹242 crore worldwide). Its musical approach — seven different compositional teams contributing — exemplified the franchise's kitchen-sink entertainment philosophy. Yo Yo Honey Singh's Laal Pari and the Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy mixtape segment connected new-generation and legacy audiences respectively; the dual-ending theatrical experiment (5A/5B) was an industry-wide first for a mainstream Hindi franchise.

The dual-ending format generated sustained media discussion and multiple repeat visits, contributing to the strong final gross. Yo Yo Honey Singh's Laal Pari became a party staple and the Housefull 5 Mixtape reconnected audiences with the franchise's sonic heritage. The film effectively revitalised the franchise after the commercial underperformance of Housefull 4 (2019), making a sixth instalment commercially viable.
