Chhorii 2 is a 2025 Hindi-language horror film directed by Vishal Furia, produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Vikram Malhotra and Jack Davis, and released on Amazon Prime Video on 11 April 2025. A direct sequel to Chhorii (2021), the film picks up seven years after the events of the first film. Sakshi (Nushrratt Bharuccha) now lives with her seven-year-old daughter Ishani and Inspector Samar (Gashmeer Mahajani). When Ishani is abducted by a dangerous underground tribe who plan to sacrifice her to their demonic deity in three days, Sakshi must confront Daasi, the malevolent high priestess, and destroy the soul-devouring demon to save her daughter. The film is a folklore-inflected supernatural horror that draws on rural Indian mythological traditions for its antagonist worldbuilding.

Chhorii 2 contains no songs. The film relies entirely on a background score composed by Rob Della Fortuna and Adrija Gupta, described by reviewers as haunting, subtle and effective at building supernatural dread. The absence of traditional songs is consistent with the film's horror genre orientation.

The Monographमहत्व Significance

Chhorii 2 is significant as an OTT horror sequel that extended the Chhorii (2021) franchise while deepening its engagement with rural Indian folklore and mythology. The film's use of genuine tribal sacrifice rituals and demonic mythology as narrative architecture — rather than generic horror tropes — gave it a cultural specificity rare in mainstream horror sequels. The all-background-score approach by Rob Della Fortuna and Adrija Gupta demonstrated that Indian horror can sustain audience engagement without song-based hooks.
Legacy

Chhorii 2 received modest critical reception on Amazon Prime Video (April 2025), with praise for its atmospheric score and Nushrratt Bharuccha's committed performance, while reviewers noted screenplay weaknesses. It nonetheless established the Chhorii universe as a viable OTT horror franchise — one of the few in Hindi cinema with a genuine folkloric foundation. Rob Della Fortuna and Adrija Gupta's work reinforced the value of non-song atmospheric scores in Indian genre cinema.
