Synopsisअनारकली दासी-नर्तकी अनारकली और मुग़ल राजकुमार सलीम के शापित प्रेम की दास्तान कहती है, जिसे अंततः सम्राट अकबर दीवार में ज़िंदा चुनवा देते हैं। इम्पीरियल फ़िल्म कं. की यह प्रस्तुति उस युग के सबसे प्रसिद्ध रूपांतरणों में से एक थी। यह कहानी बाद में मुग़ल-ए-आज़म (1960) के रूप में अमर हो गई।

Anarkali tells the legendary story of the slave-girl dancer Anarkali and her doomed love for Mughal Prince Salim, ultimately condemned to death by Emperor Akbar who buries her alive in a wall. Imperial Film Co.'s production of this perennial story was among the most celebrated adaptations of its era. The Anarkali legend — rooted in apocryphal Mughal court history — had already been a staple of Parsee theatre and was brought to the talkie screen here by R.S. Chowdhary, with Sulochana in the title role. This story would be filmed again memorably as Mughal-e-Azam (1960).
