विक्रम भट्ट

Vikram Bhatt is one of Hindi cinema's most prolific director-producers — and, since 2025, a credited lyricist. Born in 1969 into a Mumbai filmmaking family, he is the son of cinematographer Pravin Bhatt and grandson of Vijay Bhatt, the Prakash Pictures pioneer who directed Baiju Bawra. He entered the industry as a teenaged assistant and scored his first major successes with the thriller Fareb (1996) and the Aamir Khan hit Ghulam (1998). With Raaz (2002) he found the genre that would define his career: sleek, song-driven supernatural horror. He followed it with 1920 (2008) and Haunted – 3D (2011), widely noted as India's first stereoscopic 3D feature, building horror franchises in which romantic soundtracks matter as much as the scares. In 2025 he finally took up the songwriter's pen himself, making his debut as a lyricist on his own courtroom drama Tumko Meri Kasam, starring Anupam Kher. Sharing writing credits with Shweta Bothra on Prateek Walia's compositions, he wrote songs including the title track, "Berang", "Chahun Tumko Aise" and "Ishqaa Ishqaa". He continued in the role on the soundtrack of Haunted 3D: Echoes of the Past (2026), the sequel to his 2011 hit, confirming lyric-writing as a genuine second act in a three-decade film career.
