Description English
The Pulluvan Veena is a simple, handmade single-stringed folk instrument. Its body is built from a hollow bamboo stem and a rounded resonator bowl (of wood, teak or coconut shell), often headed with calf-skin or monitor-lizard skin. A single string is the soul of the whole instrument, sounded by rubbing it with a sharpened bamboo splint.
