देवकाली का रहस्य

The Secret of Devkaali is a 2025 Hindi-language mythological thriller written, directed by, and starring Niraj Chauhan, released theatrically on 18 April 2025. The film is set in the village of Devkaali, which has been suffering the wrath of its presiding goddess for 25 years due to an unacknowledged injustice. Madhav Tyagi (Niraj Chauhan) becomes an unlikely instrument of divine intervention — a common man chosen by the goddess to expose the truth buried within the village's history. His investigation reveals that Hemant Acharya, the son of the village headman, has spent decades manipulating the Pariyaar community for personal gain, creating a social divide that has festered into violence. As Madhav unravels the conspiracy, the legend of the goddess intervening to restore balance — the eponymous secret of Devkaali — takes form around him. The film stars veteran actors Sanjay Mishra and Mahesh Manjrekar in pivotal roles.

The Secret of Devkaali features original songs with music composed by and performed by Javed Ali and Aslam Ali Shah. The film's sound design was handled by Samik Sapkota for the teaser score. Specific song titles were not confirmed on major music streaming platforms at the time of research; the soundtrack appears to be released through limited channels. The film's devotional-thriller genre suggests songs may be in the bhajan or devotional tradition invoking the goddess.

A small-scale mythological thriller notable for its devotional-meets-investigative genre hybrid — a combination rarely attempted in mainstream Hindi cinema. The veteran presence of Sanjay Mishra and Mahesh Manjrekar gives it anchoring. Musically, casting Javed Ali — typically associated with romantic register — in a devotional-thriller context demonstrates an unusual use of the singer's tonal range.

Released theatrically April 18, 2025, the film did not report significant box-office figures. As a niche mythological thriller from a writer-director-actor, its primary audience is likely to be reached through OTT release rather than theatrical footfall; the longer reception arc is unwritten.
