घिच पिच

A coming-of-age drama set in Chandigarh during the early 2000s, Ghich Pich follows three middle-class Commerce students — Gaurav, Anurag, and Gurpreet — navigating youthful dreams and the suffocating expectations of their fathers. Each father refuses to let his son chart his own professional path, triggering a series of confrontations that explore the generational fault lines between tradition and individuality. The film debuted at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne in August 2025 and received strong critical praise, with The Hollywood Reporter calling it 'a bittersweet slice-of-life mindie'. It streams exclusively on Brew TV.

The 10-track album is split between three vocal Punjabi folk-pop songs (Pyaar Ch Tere, Yaariyan, Munda Patteya Gaya) composed by Rohit Sharma with lyrics by Shellee, and seven instrumental/score pieces by Ritwik De — including Nostalgia, Absolute Centre, Ghich Pich in My Heart, Chandigarh Strikes, Sukhna Lake New Dawn, Sacrifice Is the Only Way, and Ghich Pich Theme. The vocal songs capture the Chandigarhi Punjabi youth energy of the early-2000s setting, blending heartfelt melody with street-corner brass.

Ghich Pich is a small-scale coming-of-age film that captures the generational friction of early-2000s Chandigarh with specificity and warmth — particularly the suffocating expectations that middle-class fathers place on Commerce students. Its debut at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2025 and the Hollywood Reporter's endorsement ('bittersweet slice-of-life mindie') positioned it as a credible entry in the tradition of small Hindi films that outperform their budgets through authenticity. Rohit Sharma's Punjabi folk-pop vocal songs and Ritwik De's instrumental score give the soundtrack a bifurcated character mirroring the film's setting and mood.

Released theatrically on 8 August 2025 with a limited run before streaming exclusively on Brew TV, the film remains a niche but warmly received entry in Hindi indie cinema. Its festival pedigree — IFFM selection, Hollywood Reporter attention — built its credibility before its streaming release. Vocal tracks like Yaariyan carry authentic Chandigarhi street energy that gives them a modest independent streaming life.
