'Aaya Re Toofan' is A. R. Rahman's battle-cry for Chhaava (Sony Music India, 2025), a 4:39-minute thunder-march co-sung by Rahman himself alongside Marathi folk-classical vocalist Vaishali Samant. With lyrics by Irshad Kamil and Kshitij Patwardhan, it serves as the soundtrack's martial centrepiece — a sonic storm calling Sambhaji Maharaj's forces to arms against Aurangzeb's Mughal army. Rahman's vocal debut in this context is one of the album's most discussed moments.

Rahman layers Marathi tribal percussion — dhol-tasha, lezim, and war-drum patterns associated with Shiv Jayanti celebrations — over a propulsive electronic bass grid, creating a sonic collision between 17th-century Deccan and 21st-century production. Vaishali Samant, whose voice carries the deep resonance of Marathi classical tradition, alternates with Rahman's own distinctive high-tenor passages in an exchange that functions almost as a call-and-response war chant.
