'Dear Aditya' is the opening track of Badshah's FITOOR EP, his first fully independent project under his own label Pentertainment 0075, all six tracks produced solely by his longtime collaborator Hiten. Released as a single in February 2025 (with the EP compilation following August 16, 2025), 'Dear Aditya' is Badshah — born Aditya Singh Shekhawat — writing a letter to his younger self. It is the most lyrically personal track in his discography: a meditation on ambition, the persona he constructed, and the distance between the boy from Delhi who loved music and the superstar whose stage name replaced his birth name in common usage. The production is deliberately restrained, allowing his Hindi lyricism to carry the emotional weight.

Hiten's production on 'Dear Aditya' strips away the signature Badshah sounds — the 808 bass drops, the crowd-chant hooks, the festival-ready energy — and replaces them with a spare, introspective palette: piano, synthesizer, and a drum machine running at a subdued tempo. This deliberate de-glamorization serves the lyric: Badshah is not performing here, he is confessing. The production creates a quiet room in the middle of a discography built on loudness, and in that quiet room his Hindi writing is fully audible for the first time.

The conceit of writing to one's birth name is a lyrical device that gives Badshah permission to speak from outside his own persona — to see 'Badshah' as the younger Aditya might have seen him, with both wonder and some sadness. The Hindi lyricism is more exposed than in his commercial work, without the safety net of an irresistible beat to carry a less-than-perfect line.

The FITOOR EP was conceived as a deliberate artistic reset. After years of chart-dominant commercial work — Badshah is one of the most-streamed Hindi artists globally — he chose to release a six-track EP with no features, one producer, and his own label. 'Dear Aditya' was placed first to signal what the project was about: not a commercial offering but a personal one. Individual tracks were released across February to July 2025 as singles, building anticipation for the August 16, 2025 full EP compilation.

The FITOOR EP positions 'Dear Aditya' as a document of artistic self-examination from one of Hindi music's most commercially successful artists. Its significance in Badshah's discography will be as the track where he most directly addressed the gap between Aditya Singh Shekhawat and the 'Badshah' persona — a rare moment of public introspection from an artist whose brand is usually invincible confidence.
