The Monographपरिचय Overview

A Rochak Kohli self-penned and self-performed solo from Dhadak 2 (2025), 'Ye Kaisa Ishq' runs 3:07 minutes with Gurpreet Saini's lyrics. The question at the song's heart — 'ye kaisa ishq' (what kind of love is this?) — functions as both romantic bewilderment and a social question: how does one make sense of a love that the world declares impossible? Kohli's gentle voice keeps the song accessible even as the lyric probes something deeper.
The Music

Kohli keeps the production lean — guitar, piano, and synth textures without heavy percussion, allowing the melodic line to carry the emotional weight. His voice is lighter than the other male vocalists on the album, which suits the song's tone of questioning rather than declaration.
The Poetry

Gurpreet Saini frames the song as a sincere question rather than a lament — 'ye kaisa ishq' is not a complaint but genuine bewilderment, which gives the lyric an unusual emotional honesty.
