तुम तुम भी और तुम तुम नहीं

"Tum Tum Bhi Aur Tum Tum Nahin" (colloquially released and marketed as "Tum Tum Nahin") is a soulful ballad from Ishq-e-Nadaan (2023), Avishek Ghosh's JioCinema anthology film about three unconventional Mumbai love stories. Composed by Raja Narayan Deb with lyrics by Gunjan Nanda, the track is sung by veteran playback powerhouse Sunidhi Chauhan, with Raja Narayan Deb and Gunjan Nanda again credited as additional co-singers, mirroring the same collaborative vocal arrangement used on the film's title track. Released on 11 July 2023 through Panorama Music, just three days before the film's premiere, the song leans into the paradox suggested by its title — someone who is at once entirely themselves and yet unrecognizable — giving voice to one of the anthology's threads of confused, searching affection. A separate official lyrical video was later published in 2024, extending the song's promotional life well beyond the film's original release window.

Raja Narayan Deb keeps the arrangement spare and vocal-forward, giving Sunidhi Chauhan's powerful yet restrained delivery room to carry the song's emotional weight. As on the title track, the composer and lyricist Gunjan Nanda are credited as additional singers, layering their voices into the mix and continuing the film's recurring pattern of creative-team-as-performer credits across its Panorama Music soundtrack.

Gunjan Nanda's title phrase — "tum tum bhi aur tum tum nahin" (you are you, and yet you are not you) — turns a simple repetition of the word "tum" (you) into a small poetic puzzle about identity and change within love, a device that lets the lyric carry ambiguity: is this about someone who has changed, or about never truly having known them?

Set within Ishq-e-Nadaan's anthology structure, the song underscores one of the film's three interwoven Mumbai love stories — narratives built around unconventional connections between a hotel manager and a businesswoman, a pregnant woman and a corporate dropout, and an elderly woman searching for a figure from her past. Released 11 July 2023, three days before the film's 14 July JioCinema premiere, the song was part of Panorama Music's staggered single-release promotional strategy for the film, following the title track by five days.

As a supporting track from a modestly-scaled OTT anthology, the song has not achieved major chart recognition, with its official uploads drawing views in the low thousands to tens of thousands. Its release strategy is notable in retrospect — a dedicated official lyrical video was published in 2024, nearly a year after the film's premiere, extending the song's digital presence well past the film's original promotional cycle.
