'Man Bole Saawariya Se' is one of the eight recorded songs of Jadui Kismat (1944), the A. M. Khan musical with music by Behram Irani and Damodar Sharma and lyrics by Ehsan Rizvi. The word 'saawariya' (the dark-complexioned one) is the devotional-romantic Hindi epithet for Krishna and, by extension, the beloved, placing the song in the bhakti-tinged love idiom common to the period's musicals. No playback singer is documented in the surviving listings.

Behram Irani and Damodar Sharma set Ehsan Rizvi's saawariya-lyric to a devotional medium tempo, the harmonium and sarangi giving the melody the soft bhajan colour that the Krishna address invites. The arrangement follows the light-classical, voice-centred manner of the 1944 studio score.
