'Karbi' is the tribal folk heart of Bihu Attack (2026), sung by Vishal Sunar in the Karbi language with lyrics by three Karbi poets — Kamsing Engti, Rumir Engti Katharpi, and Raman Engti — and music by Janak Thakur. The song honours the Karbi Anglong people of Assam, whose cultural identity forms the social backdrop of the film.

Janak Thakur uses traditional Karbi folk instruments alongside dholak and bansuri to create an authentically regional sound. The production avoids over-arranging — the simplicity is the point. Vishal Sunar's voice has the quality of folk oral tradition, singing with the naturalness of someone who has always sung this way.

The Karbi language, part of the Tibeto-Burman family, brings an entirely different phonetic texture to a Hindi film album — a cultural act in itself. The three lyricists from the Engti family signal a community collaborative rather than a single outsider's interpretation.

The inclusion of a Karbi-language song in a mainstream Hindi film is a deliberate act of cultural representation. Director Suzad Iqbal Khan — working with the Karbi community — wanted the film to be as much a tribute to the culture as a thriller about its protection.

Arguably the most culturally significant track on the Bihu Attack album and one of the few instances of Karbi language in a Bollywood soundtrack. A valuable document for music researchers studying northeast India's representation in Hindi cinema.
