छोटी सोच

Choti Soch (छोटी सोच, 'Small Thinking') is track seven on Nayaab, the second studio album from Delhi hip-hop duo Seedhe Maut — Encore ABJ (Abhijay Negi) and Calm (Siddhant Sharma) — written and performed by the duo and produced, mixed and mastered entirely by Sez on the Beat (Sajeel Kapoor), released 27 May 2022 on Azadi Records / THE MVMNT. At just over two minutes, it is one of the shorter, punchier tracks on the 17-song album, functioning as a rapid-fire interlude between longer, more developed cuts — a structural role common across Nayaab, which mixes extended narrative tracks with tight, aggressive bursts like this one. The official lyric video, released just a day ahead of the album on 26 May 2022, credits artwork to Jayesh Joshi and lyric-video production to Pulkit Sharma (KYABC). Nayaab as a whole was nearly two years in development, received strong acclaim within India's independent hip-hop scene, and helped earn Seedhe Maut a spot on Lifted Asia's 'Best Emerging Artists of 2022' list.

Sez on the Beat keeps the production for Choti Soch lean and hard-hitting, in keeping with the track's brief runtime — a deliberate tonal shift from the more melodic, hook-driven material elsewhere on Nayaab. Encore ABJ and Calm trade bars over the beat in the duo's dense, technically layered delivery, treating the short format as a vehicle for concentrated wordplay rather than a chorus-and-verse pop structure, consistent with the interlude-style tracks scattered through the album's back half.

The title phrase 'choti soch' — small thinking — is a familiar Hindi idiom for a narrow, limited, or petty mindset, and the track uses it as a springboard for the kind of pointed, confrontational bars Seedhe Maut are known for: calling out small-mindedness, whether directed at critics, rivals, or a broader social attitude, in the duo's characteristically wordplay-dense style rather than a straightforward narrative.

Choti Soch sits within Nayaab, Seedhe Maut's second full-length album, released 27 May 2022 on Azadi Records / THE MVMNT after close to two years of development. As one of the album's shorter interlude-style tracks, it comes right after the more emotionally reflective Maina and ahead of the controversial GODKODE, part of a sequencing that alternates longer narrative songs with tight, aggressive bursts across the 17-track project. The album's release was accompanied by the Nayaab.World NFT collection and followed by the 'Teen Dost Tour,' both part of an unusually ambitious rollout for an independent Hindi hip-hop release at the time.

Choti Soch has not charted as an individual single and carries more modest numbers than the album's more prominent tracks, with its official lyric video drawing under 200,000 YouTube views — but it remains part of Nayaab, an album widely regarded within Indian hip-hop circles as one of the genre's landmark independent releases of the early 2020s, and one that helped cement Seedhe Maut's reputation as among the most technically respected acts on the Azadi Records roster.
