प्रीतम और पेड्रो

Pritam and Pedro is a cybercrime buddy-comedy thriller marking Rajkumar Hirani's debut as a streaming creator, premiering on JioHotstar on 3 July 2026. Starring Arshad Warsi as old-school police inspector Pedro and Vir Hirani (Rajkumar Hirani's son, in his acting debut) as tech-savvy hacker Pritam, the series follows the unlikely pair investigating the kidnapping of a minister's son in contemporary Goa, also featuring Vikrant Massey.

Songs composed by Shantanu Moitra with lyrics by Swanand Kirkire, released under Sony Music India. The principal song is 'Maafi' (sung by Shreya Ghoshal), a retro-inspired philosophical geet picturised on Mona Singh. Theme music by Vishal Khurana K; background score by Sanjay Wandrekar. The soundtrack was released on 2 July 2026, one day before the series premiere.

Rajkumar Hirani's streaming debut marks a major crossover for one of Hindi cinema's most celebrated directors. The soundtrack reunites Shantanu Moitra and Swanand Kirkire — the composer-lyricist pair behind Parineeta (2005) and 3 Idiots (2009) — for their first collaboration on a streaming project, making the Shreya Ghoshal-sung 'Maafi' a reunion of Mumbai's most beloved melodic team of the 2000s working in a new medium.

Released July 2026 on JioHotstar, Pritam and Pedro earned enthusiastic early streaming reception with audiences praising Arshad Warsi's comedic chemistry with newcomer Vir Hirani. 'Maafi' gained modest streaming traction as a standalone listening track. The long-arc cultural legacy of Hirani's streaming debut — and whether it unlocks a second chapter of the Moitra-Kirkire partnership — remains to be written as of mid-2026.
