दिल दोस्ती और डॉग्स

Dil Dosti Aur Dogs is a Hindi family comedy-drama produced by Jio Studios and The Creative Tribe, directed by Viral Shah, and released on JioHotstar on February 28, 2025. The film weaves together four interconnected stories, each centred on how a dog transforms the life of its human companions. A married couple struggling with a failing relationship adopts a dog hoping to rekindle their connection. A young girl, seeking acceptance from her stepfather, finds an unexpected ally in a stray dog. An elderly widow living in solitude discovers renewed purpose and companionship when a dog enters her world. And a hotel manager with a deep-seated fear of dogs begins volunteering at an animal shelter, leading to unexpected self-discovery and romance. Through these four narrative threads — featuring Neena Gupta, Sharad Kelkar, Ehan Bhat, Kunaal Roy Kapur, and Tridha Choudhury — the film makes a warm, gentle argument that dogs, like love itself, have the power to open doors we didn't know were closed.

Dil Dosti Aur Dogs has a three-song original soundtrack with a total runtime of 11:39 minutes. Tracks: Zindagi (composed by Ambresh Shroff, sung by Aditya Narayan, 4:17); Naya Aasma (composed and written by Prateek Nandan, sung by Mugdha Hasabnis, 4:11); Halki Halki (composed by Alok Ranjan Srivastava, sung by Alok Ranjan Srivastava, Mohan Kannan, and Simran Hora, 3:11). Each song was composed by a different artist — matching the film's multi-story structure.

Dil Dosti Aur Dogs is a small-scale OTT family comedy notable primarily for its structural boldness — matching each of its four interlocking storylines with a distinct composer, mirroring the film's thematic argument that human-animal bonds take different shapes. Neena Gupta's performance as an elderly widow rediscovering purpose through a dog connects the film to her tradition of portraying older Indian women with uncommon dignity on screen.

Released exclusively on JioHotstar in February 2025, the film found a modest but warm OTT audience and is occasionally referenced as an example of the platform's appetite for gentle ensemble family dramas. Its three-song album left no lasting footprint on streaming charts but functioned effectively within the film's emotional register.
