रेवाशंकर मारवाड़ी और गंगाप्रसाद पाठक

Rewashankar Marwadi and Gangaprasad Pathak were a music-director duo at Ranjit Movietone in the earliest years of the Hindi talkie. Their best-documented joint credit is Gunsundari (1934), Chandulal Shah's sound remake of his own silent hit, starring Gohar Mamajiwala; the pair scored the film's songs, including 'Chalo Patjhad Rut Beet Gayi' and 'Jal Bharne Ko Main Gayi Thi Sanwariya'. Pathak also appeared in the film as an actor, playing the role of Madanrai. The two composed together again for Raat Ki Rani (1935) before their paths diverged. Rewashankar Marwadi remained one of the studio era's true all-rounders: he acted in some 27 films up to 1955, sang in nine, and scored around 21 films from Veer Babruwahan (1934) to Matrubhoomi (1949), later forming a regular composing partnership with Banne Khan. Beyond his acting and composing credits, little else is reliably recorded about Gangaprasad Pathak.
