Nothing about how this song actually sounded can be stated. What is documented is the setting the song was made in. This was a Hindi picture produced in Calcutta in 1945, at Indrapuri Productions, in the years when Bose was working outside New Theatres, the studio that had made his name; myswar's listing for the album names Columbia Records as the label the songs were issued on. Beyond that the record is silent, and this entry does not fill the silence in.

Only the title can be read, and it is worth reading. 'Swarg se sundar desh hamara' is built as a comparison rather than a description: the country is not praised on its own terms but measured against swarg, heaven, and placed above it. That is a specific and old move in Indian devotional and patriotic verse — the claim that the homeland outranks the afterlife is a way of making a political attachment carry religious weight without saying anything religious. In a Hindi film released in 1945, in the months before the INA trials, the construction is not decorative. What the rest of the lyric did with the claim is unrecorded, and this entry does not reconstruct it.

Swarg Se Sundar Desh Hamara was a Hindi social drama produced in Calcutta in 1945 and directed by Debaki Bose — the New Theatres veteran who had left that studio in 1941 and by 1945 was working on his own. Wikipedia's HFGK-derived index of the year's Hindi films classes it as a Social and names three players, Biman Bannerjee, Kamal Mitra and Padma Devi; myswar and Moviebuff name two of the three and give the production house as Indrapuri Productions. No print of the film is known to survive and no synopsis appears in the standard indexes, so what the songs were written for — who sang them on screen, at what point, in what situation — is not recorded anywhere reachable.
